Kaffa, the all-day restaurant at The Hans, New Delhi

All-Day Dining at Kaffa

Kaffa sits just off the lobby, which is the whole point of it. A hotel restaurant earns its place by being open when you need it, and this one runs from 7 AM to 11 PM without a break.

Breakfast, 7:00 to 10:30 AM

The buffet is built for a mixed room: Indian breakfast staples alongside eggs cooked to order, breads, fruit, cereals and strong coffee. If you have an early meeting, the 7 AM opening means a proper breakfast rather than something eaten standing up. If you are on holiday, the last half-hour of service is the quietest of the day.

The Working Lunch

Through the middle of the day Kaffa turns into a practical place to hold a conversation: multi-cuisine à la carte, served briskly, in a room quiet enough to talk across a table. For groups gathering before or after a session in The Windsor banquet, it is the obvious staging point.

Evenings

Later the pace slows and the bar comes into its own — a drink after a day of meetings, or a long dinner if you have been out walking Old Delhi. Because the kitchen stays open until 11 PM, a delayed flight or an over-running meeting does not mean going without dinner.

The measure of an all-day restaurant is whether it is still useful at 10 PM. This one is.

In Your Room Instead

Room service runs from the same kitchen, so the menu does not shrink when you would rather eat upstairs. Tea and coffee makers are standard in every category.
